The Town Entered for April 24 Allowance at Gulfstream Park
Friday, April 24, The Town will make his seventh career start as he contests a $65,000 Allowance race going 1 mile on the turf at Gulfstream Park.
He will break from Gate 7 in Race 8 (4:36 p.m. ET) with Samy Camacho aboard for trainer Brad Cox. Camacho has been having a standout meet and currently leads all jockeys at Gulfstream Park by earnings.
This spot sets up as an ideal opportunity for The Town to rebound. After facing tougher Stakes company last time out in the March 29 Lambholm South Sophomore Turf Stakes, where things didn’t quite go his way, we’ve been focused on getting him back into a race that better suits his current development. Dropping into an allowance should allow him to be more competitive and showcase his true ability, while giving him a confident outing.
Importantly, we know he handles this turf course well—he broke his maiden here at the end of February against a comparable group. Since his sixth-place finish last time, he has been training forwardly, and the team is pleased with how he’s coming into this race.
We’re excited to see him return to a track he enjoys and look forward to a strong performance on Friday.
