Quills Picks Winners – Friday 5/8 – Belmont at the Big A Race 7

 After a couple of days out in the Midwest, we had to Aqueduct for today’s race. Our featured race is an allowance race on the grass as New York bred fillies and mares will sprint six furlongs on the outer turf course.

Belmont at the Big A Race 7 – Allowance

Favored in today’s race is the 1 One Last Knock (7/2 morning line). She raced for the first time since November and finished second, not being able to get to the leader late in the race. She likes to stalk the pace and will be stalking from the inside today.

The 5 Dancingwithdestiny (8/1 ML) last raced at Laurel Park in October, finishing third last time out. She was weaving back and forth in the stretch and lost the lead. This filly returns today back in New York and will be looking to go gate to wire here today.

She will have company from the 8 Floy Joy (8/1 ML). She won her debut on the main track last month on the lead and will see if that translates to the turf today. If she takes to the grass, she could be dangerous on the lead here.

The 2 Disco Star (4/1 ML) like many of these fillies and mares will be racing for the first time this year. She is the closer in this race and will love a speed duel up front if it materializes.

This is a wide open race here with the favorite on the rail looking to stalk right behind the speed in this race. It looks like the 2 Disco Star will be able to get the perfect trip here to get up late for the win.
