Quills Picks Winners – Monday 10/5 – Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 7

We head to Horseshoe Indy for today’s race of the day. A field of 15 fillies and mares, with up to 10 running, will go a mile and a sixteenth this afternoon in an allowance race today. Note that the 11 Dreaming of Joy is favored at 3/1 odds, but she will need this race to be off the turf as she is a “main track only” entrant.

Horseshoe Indianapolis Race 7 – Allowance

Co-favored among the turf entrants is the 2 Forget About You (4/1 morning line). She last races in June where she closed strongly to break her maiden in her fourth career race. She has shown that closing kick and will try to do that again this afternoon in her first race in over three months.

Also coming off of a three-month layoff is the 5 Tarshea (4/1 ML) who went gate to wire in a claiming race in her first race in a year. She will step up into allowance company in her return today and will go for her third race in a row today. It will be interesting to see if she is on the lead or is off the pace like her debut win.

The 3 Lilmorecraken (8/1 ML) closed well in an allowance race here at Horseshoe Indy finishing second. She is back after a three-month break as well and will look to make a late move once again here this afternoon.

The 6 Rhapsody in Motion (9/2 ML) broke her maiden last month at Horseshoe Indy in her first race in almost seven months. She rallied from the back of the pack to win that race and will look to improve off of that effort today.

This is a wide open race here this afternoon, and I am sure you can make a case for most of the horses who are entered in the main draw of this turf race. I’ll go with Rhapsody in Motion here. She finally broke her maiden in her ninth race and may have had the “light bulb” moment and figured things out. Expect her to get up late for the win.
