Quills Picks Winners – Wednesday 4/22 – Parx Race 10
We head back to my home track Parx as they have three Pennsylvania bred stakes races on the card today. We will take a look at the finale of a ten-race card. That race is the Page McKenney Handicap as horses will go six furlongs.
Expect a wet track this afternoon as rain was expected to move in overnight. I’m expecting a wet track though the rain should be moving out towards midday.

Parx Race 10 – Page McKenney Handicap
Favored in our featured race is the 7 Gordian Knot (7/2 morning line). He rallied late here at Parx two weeks ago to win a state bred optional race last time out. There is a speed horse to the inside and looks like he could be stalking him this afternoon.
That speed horse is the 2 Twisted Ride (4/1 ML). He went gate to wire in an optional claiming race here last month at Parx. This is a gelding that wants and needs the lead and could be fast enough to take this field from gate to wire.
The 1 Ninetyprcentmaddie (6/1 ML) races for the first time since New Year’s Eve when he tired in the Kris Kringle Stakes. He looks like he can stay close to the lead from his rail spot which he did last summer here at Parx going longer.
The 6 Crab Daddy (9/2 ML) finished second in the Frank Whitley at Laurel Park three weeks ago. That race was a short field of five, so this race could be a toss out. The previous time out, he set off dueling horses and closed to win. Expect that this afternoon.

Joe’s Pick
There are a bunch of horses here that appear that they will want to close here, but I think that lone speed is dangerous. Twisted Ride wants the lead and should get it. Let’s give him the nod as I expect him to go gate to wire this afternoon.
I’m calling this race 2-6-7-1 and my play is $20 to win on the 2. Best of luck and I’ll see you in the winner’s circle!
