Quills Picks Winners – Monday 7/13 – Parx Race 7
Happy Monday everyone! We head home for today’s race at Parx. We have a field of seven horses are entered to go one mile in this starter allowance optional claiming race.

Parx Race 7 – Starter Allowance Optional Claiming
Favored in today’s featured race is the 4 Beale Street Boy (5/2 morning line). He comes in from Laurel Park where he did not fire on the grass, stalking the pace and then tiring. Look for this gelding to be near the pace as he runs on what appears to be his preferred surface going turf to dirt today.
The 2 Impressiveness (9/2 ML) finished second in an optional claiming race at Delaware Park at the end of May. Look for him to be close to the pace after weakening last time out. He is looking for his fourth win in six races which includes a win here at Parx under similar race conditions.
The 6 Flash of Chaos (7/2 ML) drops in class after tiring last month here at Parx. He looks like he will drop back and make a move late, but his only win was closer to the front at Keeneland in April. We may see him off the lead, but not as far back as the last two times out.
The 1 Point Barrow (6/1 ML) broke his maiden here last month at Parx in a maiden claiming race. He essentially went gate to wire, but he lost the lead in the stretch and fought back for the win. He has found a home on the main track after racing initially on Ellis Park’s turf and Turfway’s synthetic surfaces. It is possible he might have that speed tendency after winning in his first try around two turns last time out.

Joe’s Pick
Jamie Ness has a dangerous combination here in Beale Street Boy who returns to the main track, and Impressiveness who has won three of his last five races. I’ll take Impressiveness who won under similar conditions back in March.
I’m calling this race 2-4-6-1 and my play is $20 to win on the 2. Best of luck and I’ll see you in the winner’s circle!
