We head back to Parx for today’s featured race. We are taking a look at race number eight of a nine-race card. In this race, Pennsylvania-bred horses will go seven furlongs today.
Parx Race 8 – Allowance
Favored in today’s race is the 6 Mr Flowers (2/1 morning line). He is racing for the third time off of a layoff for those that like that handicapping angle. He finished third in the mud last month here at Parx, weakening in a two-turn race. This gelding shortens up to a one-turn race today, but his best success has been on the turf.
The 7 Beyondexpectations (4/1 ML) shortens up after forcing the pace and tiring last month in the slop here at Parx. He likes to be near the front and should enjoy the cutback to one turn here this afternoon. He has regressed in his last two starts, but he did win at this distance in December.
The 1 Malibu Warrior (5/1 ML) went gate to wire last time out at Penn National. He won two in a row, including two races back here at Parx back in February. It looks like he might be better suited for two turns and there are other horses that want the lead.
The 3 Regalpains (12/1 ML) willingly finished fourth last time out despite having to steady around the three-eighths pole. The issue didn’t seem that significant, but it still could have affected his finish today. With the top apprentice jockey in the mid-Atlantic region aboard, there is a possibility you could upset.

One thing you may have noticed when if you have religiously read my articles is that some picks are for the win percentage and some are for the ROI. Today is a swing for the fences type race.
There are a few horses that want to go for the lead. Regalpains gets an opportunity to close if we do have horses dueling up front. Yes, the numbers are not great, but sometimes things fall into place for you. That’s what will happen here today. This gelding will be closing late and will get up to win at hopefully a very nice price.
